How do I Transfer my Local Domain

This article has been written to help you transfer the following type of domains to 1-grid:

.co.za, .org.za, .web.za, .net.za

Step 1) Preparation

Before starting the transfer process, you need to make sure of the following first:

  • The Domain Status need to be OK.
  • Make sure you have access to the Registrant Email address of your domain.
  • Make your current provider aware of the domain transfer.

To view the Registrant email address and domain status, please go to https://www.registry.net.za/whois/ and then search for your domain.

On the next page it will now show your domain details. Here I have used 1-grid.com as an example.

You can now search for Domain Status (make sure it shows OK) and  Registrant Email and make a note of this email address.

If you are not the owner of the Registrant Email address, you need to do the following:

You will need to contact the company that has access to that email address and make them aware that you are transferring your domain.

If your current provider has control over the Registrant Email address, you will need to ask them to accept the transfer request for you.

Every company has their own domain cancellation process, so you will need to read the terms and conditions of your current provider before contacting them.

Step 2) Place your Domain Transfer order

To start placing your order please go to https://1-grid.com and enter the domain you wish to transfer and click search

The system will check if there the domain is available along with other domains that are similar to it.

If the domain needs to be transferred then click on the transfer button on the right hand side.

If the domain does not exist then it will have a “register” option on the right hand side. As soon as you click on one of these options, your cart will automatically be updated.

Click on “Go To Cart” to complete the signup.
