Domains: Renewal Process for Local and International Domains

This article provides information on our domain renewal process.

 

When your domain is up for renewal you will receive 5 notifications before your domain expires. We will cover each notification and the steps and advise on the steps to be taken below.

First notification: 90 days before the expiry date you will receive the following:

Email subject: “Please find this reminder regarding domain names that are set for renewal in the next 90 days.”

Next Steps:

  • You will receive an invoice for the domain(s) within the next 30 days.
  • If your payment method for the relevant domain is debit order or credit card, we will automatically debit your account and renew the domain.
Second notification: 60 days before the expiry date your invoice will be generated and you will receive the following:

Email subject: “This is a notice that an invoice has been generated on *. Please ensure that payment is made, as domain renewals will only be processed once payment has been received.”

Next Steps:

  • If your payment method for the relevant domain is debit order or credit card, we will automatically debit your account and renew the domain.
  • Alternatively, please log in to your customer zone to make payment immediately.

What to Check?

For customers with payment method set to Debit order and credit card please verify that your banking details are up to date.

Third notification: 45 days before the expiry date, the invoice will be due and you will receive the following:

Email Subject: “This is a reminder that your invoice # which was generated on ***, is due.”

Next Steps:

  • If your payment method for the relevant domain is debit order or credit card, we will automatically debit your account and renew the domain.
  • Alternatively, please log in to your customer zone to make payment immediately.

What to check?

For customers with payment method set to Debit order and credit card please verify that your banking details are up to date.

Fourth notification: 30 days before expiry you will receive:

Email Subject: “This is a reminder that your invoice # which was generated on ***, is due.”

  • This is a reminder regarding domain names that will be expiring in the next 30 days.
  • As no payment was received, we have not processed the domain renewal.

What to do if you want to still renew your domain at this point?

Please log in to your customer zone to make payment immediately. Alternatively  If you have made payment please contact our support desk urgently by clicking here.

Fifth notification: 7 days before the expiry date you will receive a final notice:

Email Subject: “This is a reminder that your invoice # which was generated on ***, is due.”

  • This is a reminder regarding domain names that will be expiring in the next 30 days.
  • As no payment was received, we have not processed the domain renewal.

What to do if you want to still renew your domain at this point?

Please log in to your customer zone to make payment immediately. Alternatively  If you have made payment please contact our support desk urgently by clicking here.

 

INFO: Failure to settle domain renewal fees in time for EFT customer may result redemption fee of R500 to R5000, dependent on the applicable Registry. Redemption fees explained.
