South African motorists whose driver’s and vehicle licences expired during the COVID-19 pandemic are dealing with long queues at license departments due to a backlog. The deadline for lockdown expired vehicle licenses was on September 22nd, but they are also entitled to a 21 day grace period where they won’t get fined for expired disks. The driver’s license grace period is still valid for licenes that expired between March 26th, and August 31st have until January 31st 2021 to renew.
