The business came about when two friends David Torr and Chris Verster Cohen saw a gap in the market for convenient and healthy dinner solutions. What started as a bunch of friends operating from a garage in Cape Town, is now a team of 50 people with warehouses in Johannesburg and Cape Town. They use seasonal and ethically sourced ingredients from suppliers within the community.

4.      Sweepsouth.com

Sweepsouth is a company that brings domestic services to your home in a few clicks. The housekeepers are reliable because they go through a vetting process and background check. The cleaning services are flexible, get your house cleaned, laundry sorted and other household duties taken off your shoulders. It’s perfect for people who can’t get to their household chores and can’t commit to having a full-time housekeeper.

The idea came about when young professionals Aisha Pando and her husband grew frustrated at not getting reliable housekeepers and having no time to manage the household because they were working 16 to 18 hour days. The business not only offers domestic assistance to clients but provides secure and consistent employment for the employees who are mostly single mothers and are heads of their households.
